The discrepancy between want and need.

This is what I packed for my holiday, which ended up being used:

You know, the basics. Shampoo, soap, moisturizer, boot tonnes of sunscreen and very minimal makeup.

This is what I packed, and I didn't touch:

Lipstick, real world makeup. Who else has a severe case of over packing? I packed a bunch of unnecessary makeup for a CAMPING TRIP - there is no wonder that it wasn't used. Don't get me started on my inability to pack clothes as well, a blazer is not suitable attire when camping for cold nights, hoodies are much more acceptable. Where was my hoodie? Hiding in the drawer back at home. Sigh.

Please don't think that because there is a roll on deodorant in the not used pile that I didn't wear deodorant however - I used my Rexona spray. I have no idea why I took two deodorants!

I would love to hear your packing stories in the comments - who here is a master packer, and who is a shocker like me?

  1. I am usually better at packing for long trips then I am for short trips (which I realise is insane!)
I managed to pack the perfect amount of beauty products for a couple of months around Asia (I only took carry-on!) but I'm getting better at packing for short trips because of our country house :)

  3. How funny, because seeing the deodorant my first thought went something like this.

"5 lip products, mascara all packed but no deodorant? WTF?"

Lucky that you set me right! :)
